Sinclair's about to leave Brighton.
Bum face, sad face; see you in ten years...

This sofa's rather sad looking too. Homeless.

We performed the musical at work again yesterday. Niamh replaced Nadine who's away and did very well, the little Irish rose...

Saturday 26 June 2010

Yesterday it was midsummer, one of Sweden's biggest celebrations. Went into the sea and then had traditional Swedish midsummer foods with Sam - boiled newpotatos, pickled herring and sour cream with chives... It's a bit more exciting than it sounds. A bit.

At least there were strawberries for dessert...

Today, tomorrow...

Anyway thursday was Robin's birthday. Jeff gave him a boat.

Brighton - London - Brighton - London - Brighton is what I've been doing this past week. Yet again I took advantage of Andrew's hospitality and stayed with him in Hackney. Haven't taken too many photos but here are a few.

On Saturday I took the train to go to Kayla's birthday bash in Putney. I waited forever for the tube but got to see this wonderful sunset so it was ok. Then it took me two hours to get from Putney to Hackney. Less ok.

Some of my favourite Swedes graced London with their presence this past weekend - Theresia tried the latest London fashion:

And Saga-Mariah photographed me photographing her:

And Hedda was bored behind spaghetti decorations.

On Tuesday after spending 3 hours on a delayed train I came back to Brighton where I had a drink (or five?) with Sam who's the kind of guy who gets back to random women handing out notes.

Random women who might get a tad tipsy and accidentally spit alcohol whilst trying to talk.

On Wednesday Brighton was like this:

... but I didn't swim. Too stressed about going back to London where I after some serious running around finally found my way to Ealing studios...

..where I helped Garry to film the casting for a short film he's making.

Back at Andrew's there was a bbq which starred the world's first vegetarian lamb skewers and the lovely Hannah, the discoverer of said skewers.

And this morning I said goodbye to Gertie the dog and made my way back to Brighton to first swim and then celebrate Robin's birthday. But I'm off to bed now so no pictures of the birthday boy just yet... tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day. G'night!

Friday 18 June 2010

So, lately, I went to London and I... didn't book myself into the Y.W.C.A (yes W, it's what Moz sings). I've done other stuff. This:

We moved our degree show to Brick Lane for free range. Built walls. Painted walls. Hung pictures. Saw dust ghosts.

Stayed at Andrew's. Admired his wallpaper & map.

And the man himself of course.

I had a shower which doubled as a foot bath.

I photographed our poster with directions in Brick Lane.

Whilst doing that I met a nice Indian man and his little son and photographed them too. The boy was very happy about his football.

At Victoria catching the train back to Brighton I bumped into Sarah.

When I came back to Brighton the Argus told me all about the latest Brighton news.

And I went to Meg's new space to leave some pictures and saw Simpsons being projected. And Sara in front.

And Meg and the tiredness.

And my photos to be hung on the wall.

Now I'm gonna have a power-nap and then go say goodbye to JoAnn who's moving to Sweden via Denmark. I hate goodbyes. I wish the world was the size of Lichtenstein so that all my friends were close by but as I've complained enough about the fact that it isn't I will stop. Now.

Monday 14 June 2010

Mark kindly treated us kids in his crit group to lunch at his today. Heaps of good food, wine and talk. And sunshine - me and Josh had to ask for sunscreen as we're albino kids.

Speaking of (or, well, maybe not, but showing) flare; I really like the light coming through our bathroom window in sunny evenings. It's sooo bright and warm. Very un-England.

An old picture of Simon in said light:

Look at him; like a saint! Whoever said the camera never lies...

Friday 11 June 2010

We took the exhibition down today. Wrapped things up.

Thursday 10 June 2010

Jamie took the bus from London ridiculously early in the morning to come see our show. Then we had burgers at Red Veg with Josh and then he got on the bus back. Love!

I had a bit of a crap day to start with so seeing Jamie & Josh was lovely & just what I needed.
And Josh said the quote of the day (if not year; or life): "I think everything's fun!" Imagine that. It's great.

Wednesday 9 June 2010

Volleyball was great!

Yesterday I took the train with Josh...

... to go to Mark's private view. It was very nice. And very hot.

Tonight there are no private views; tonight there's volleyball!

Sunday 6 June 2010

This weekend:

the long lost plug for the bathtub is found

my pictures are exhibited

and I dress up to the occasion (the exhibition, not the plug finding. That was worth celebrating too though)

Friday 4 June 2010

It's been a year since you chose to leave. Tonight is the private view of our degree show and I wouldn't have been here, in England, doing photography, if it wasn't for you. So thanks for that. And many other things.
You're missed.

Thursday 3 June 2010

Today I had my last session with David.
And the posters with my picture are up.

Tuesday 1 June 2010

Yesterday there was a barbecue in the house out of town. It was a lunchtime barbecue that turned into an afternoon barbecue and then an evening barbecue. Then someone fell out of a tree as a branch gave way, the ambulance came and I went home.

But before then it was like this

And a little bit like this

And a lot like this

I did photograph my friend Josh (above) a lot. Until he told me to stop because he liked it too much and it made him feel vain.
Josh is one of the loveliest people ever. If everyone was like Josh there would be no wars. I promise. I know a few people like this and they're truly such a blessing to be around. Sounds cheesy yes but hey, there you go.

(Yes, there's only portraits of men in this blog so far. Yes, that'll change. Sometime...)
